Due to the work on the removal of an aerial bomb from the Second World War found in Belgrade, the Serbian Interior Ministry called on residents living nearby to temporarily leave their homes. This was reported on the agency's website on August 7.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs is calling on citizens in the immediate vicinity of the work site to leave their apartments on Saturday, August 9, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. if possible. If this is not possible, it is recommended to open the windows, lower the blinds and move away from them," the ministry said in a statement.
It is reported that currently the location of the aerial bomb is constantly guarded by police officers.
Earlier, on August 5, a floating British MC 1000lb Mks I aerial bomb from World War II was found at a construction site in Belgrade. The weight of the aerial bomb is about 500 kg, of which about 220 kg is explosive.
