Kamchatka airports are operating normally amid volcanic activity on the peninsula. This was announced on Thursday, August 7, by the Federal Air Transport Agency.

"Kamchatka airports are operating normally. Currently, the Klyuchevskaya, Shiveluch and Krasheninnikov volcanoes are active in the region," RIA Novosti reports.

The Federal Air Transport Agency clarified that if the seismic situation in the region worsens, the agency will promptly issue additional recommendations for airlines.

On the same day, Klyuchevskaya volcano was assigned the "red" aviation hazard code in the Kamchatka Territory. Later, the volcano released ash to a height of 11.5 km. It was noted that this is the second ash release in a day.
