Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Major General of Justice Dmitry Belyaev as the head of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in Moscow. This was reported on August 7 in the Telegram channel of the department.
"The capital region is the largest agglomeration in our country with its own unique traditions and high level of technological development. And the safety of Moscow, its residents and numerous guests directly depends on our joint work," Belyaev said at a solemn event in honor of his inauguration.
The Major General of Justice added that the main vector of the department's work is the disclosure of each criminal case. It is specified that he was appointed to the post of head of the GSU IC in Moscow by Putin's decree dated July 31, 2025.
Belyaev has been in the service since 2003. Since 2022, he has been the head of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Dagestan. He was awarded medals "For impeccable service" of II and III degrees, "For diligence in service", "For distinction".
Earlier, on May 5, Colonel of Justice Yaroslav Yakovlev was appointed head of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region. Prior to that, he served as deputy head of the department.
