The UN welcomes any actions aimed at resolving the conflict. This was announced on August 7 by Farhan Haq, deputy official representative of the head of the world organization, at a briefing, commenting on information about preparations for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump.
According to him, the organization will monitor the events that will take place around the Ukrainian conflict.
"Obviously, we welcome any efforts aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine," Haq said.
Earlier, on August 7, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that an agreement had already been agreed on a meeting between Putin and Trump in the coming days. He explained that at this stage, the parties are working on an agreement on a meeting between the two leaders. According to him, the meeting place has already been agreed, but it will be announced a little later.
Later, Putin noted that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) could be one of the suitable places for a summit meeting. He noted that both sides expressed interest in holding the summit between Russia and the United States.
