A resident of the Zaporizhia region received 18 years for preparing a terrorist attack in Melitopol.

Daria Kulik, a resident of the Zaporizhia region, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for preparing a terrorist attack in the building of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in Melitopol. This decision was made on August 7 by the Southern District Military Court.

According to the court, in July 2023, a man contacted the woman and suggested that she collect data for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the locations of the Russian military in Melitopol. Kulik signed a receipt in a secret chat and agreed to cooperate.

After that, she took photos and videos of the building of the FSB of Russia in the region and sent the data to the curator. He gave her the task to purchase substances for the Molotov Cocktail incendiary mixture, the woman hid them in a hiding place. She was detained in September.

"In accordance with the verdict of the court, the defendant was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years in prison in a penal colony with a fine of 600 thousand rubles," the court's Telegram channel said.

Kulik is charged with crimes under Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist community"), Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code ("Deliberate preparation for a crime and attempted crime"), paragraphs "a", "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code ("Preparation of a terrorist act") 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Treason"), Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation of explosives or explosive devices").

On August 7, a court in Sevastopol sentenced a 52-year-old local resident to 14 years in prison for treason. The city prosecutor's office reported that from December 2023 to April 2024, the man was recruited by an SBU officer via messenger. On the instructions of the curators, the defendant took a mobile phone with software for transmitting photos and other information about the location of military facilities of the Russian army from the cache.
