Six people died as a result of the crash of a light-engine aircraft into residential buildings in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. This was announced on August 7 by Kiambu County Commissioner Henry Wafula in an interview with Citizen TV channel.

"Yes, six people died," the TV channel quoted him as saying.

It is noted that there were four people on board the Cessna Citation XLS aircraft with registration number 5Y-FDM, bound for Somalia, at the time of its crash. Wafula confirmed that among the dead were two doctors and two nurses who were on board the plane, as well as two people who were at the scene.

Authorities have cordoned off the scene, and an investigation into the causes of the disaster is ongoing.

The crash of a light-engine aircraft became known earlier that day. It is noted that the plane was associated with a local aviation company that specializes in private charters and medical evacuation flights throughout Africa.
