Deputies of the New People faction, led by Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov, proposed introducing a bill that eliminates administrative liability for installing tinted windows on cars, a corresponding document was published on August 7 on the portal "Legislative Support Systems".

It is noted that the initiative involves the exclusion of part of Article 12.5 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, which currently prohibits tinting with insufficient light transmission. The explanation to the draft law states that tinting is a global practice that reduces drivers' glare at night from the headlights of oncoming cars and daytime glare from the sun, which contributes to increased safety.

It is also emphasized that tinted windows can act as protection against theft and theft, since it is more difficult for criminals to notice valuables inside the car.

Earlier, on June 2, State Duma deputies from the LDPR faction proposed a bill to ease restrictions on tinting the front side windows of cars. It was supposed to give car owners the right to use tinting on the front side windows, provided that their light transmission is at least 60% of the indicator.
