260 waste piles have been eliminated in the forests of the Moscow region since the beginning of the current 2025. The total amount of garbage removed amounted to more than 4.6 thousand cubic meters, the press service of the regional forestry committee reported on Thursday, August 7.

Most of the waste was removed from the forests of Odintsovo, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Mytishchi and Istra. These are 30, 20, 18 and 17 piles, respectively, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya.

In total, 399 piles of garbage with a total volume of over 9.3 thousand cubic meters were identified in the forests of the region. Solnechnogorsk, Khimki, Odintsovo and Voskresensk turned out to be the most polluted — 38, 36, 32 and 29 piles, respectively.

The work on clearing the forests was carried out by the municipalities. The piles of waste were identified by employees of Mosoblles branches. They also monitored the progress and results of the cleaning.

The agency also recalled the fines for unloading or dumping waste from cars, motorcycles and trailers in the forest. Violators will also have to clean up their trash and compensate for the damage caused to nature..

Earlier in June, it was reported that since the beginning of 2025, more than 2 thousand advertising banners, posters and banners in forests have been dismantled in the Moscow region. The objects were placed in nature illegally.
