36 embassies will be represented at the opening of the India Day Festival in Moscow.

The tenth anniversary India Day Festival in Moscow will be opened by representatives of 36 embassies. This was announced on August 7 by the founder of the festival, President of the Indian cultural and national center "Sita" Sammy Kotwani.

"This event is being opened by 36 different embassies and 20 regions. Thus, we are sending a signal to the whole world that we have one big family in Russia," he said at a press conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the festival.

According to him, the program of the event was based on suggestions from Moscow residents. According to the organizers, up to 3 million people can attend the festival this year. Kotwani noted that the Russian and Indian peoples share a mutual interest in each other's cultures.

He also said that relations between Russia and India are showing positive dynamics and that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are good friends.

"When leaders are best friends, eventually it goes to the lower levels. Now we've all become best friends, too. And our friendship is not a one-day friendship. We are true friends, like brothers," the founder of the festival emphasized.

According to him, the US sanctions pressure on India will help it to get even closer to Russia.

"India Day" will be held from August 14 to 17 in the southern landscape park "Island of Dreams". In total, more than 25 themed zones await visitors. The audience will be presented with 413 creative performances: 399 dance and 28 vocal performances will be dedicated to traditional Indian culture.
