The governor of the Vologda region announced the zero number of abortions in the region in July.

Pregnant residents of the Vologda region did not have a single abortion in July, the governor of the region, Georgy Filimonov, announced on August 7.

"In July, the number of abortions in Vologda region decreased to zero. The decline has been observed since March, the dynamics are reflected on the chart," Filimonov wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the governor, the task of reducing the number of abortions in the region is being solved jointly with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), public organizations, doctors and social services.
