This was stated on August 7 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special representative of the President of Russia for cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"We also note that there is a very important dialogue with the United States in various areas. And many opponents of Russia are trying to disrupt this dialogue, trying to prevent it, trying to misinform the US leadership about various facts," he said.

As Dmitriev pointed out, the dialogue that has begun allows Russia to clearly communicate its position. Thus, the growth of the Russian economy significantly exceeded the figures of the United Kingdom and the European Union (EU), where there is almost stagnation. In addition, the Russian Federation copes well with various forms of pressure on its market.

"Russia is open to a constructive and constructive dialogue with the United States. And, of course, the summit between the leadership of Russia and the United States, which is planned, hopefully, next week, can become an important historical event. An event when Russia's position will be clearly conveyed to the President [of the United States Donald] Trump. We hope that this dialogue will continue even more actively, including in the economic direction," said the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

Earlier in the day, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that an agreement had been agreed between the Russian Federation and the United States on a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump in the coming days. He noted that the parties have already started working out agreements on negotiations between the two leaders.

Later, Putin noted that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) could be one of the suitable places for a summit meeting. He added that both sides had expressed interest in holding a summit between Russia and the United States.
