A new strong Class M flare has occurred on the Sun.

A strong flare of the penultimate power class, M2.2, was recorded on the Sun. This was reported on August 7 on the website of the E.K. Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics.

"On August 7, at 05:32 Moscow time, an M2.2 flash was registered in the X—ray range in the group of spots 4168 (N04W29)," the message says.

According to the organization, the duration of the outbreak was 25 minutes. In addition, scientists have predicted possible solar flares of class X in the period from 7 to 8 August.

On August 5, at 18:53 Moscow time, the second flash of the penultimate power class M4.4 lasting 12 minutes occurred on the Sun. In the morning, an outbreak of class M1.2 was recorded, its duration was 30 minutes.
