Two residents of Sakhalin were found guilty of murder 25 years ago
In the Sakhalin region, two local residents were found guilty of murder 25 years ago. This was announced on August 7 by the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.
"The evidence collected by the second department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Sakhalin Region was recognized by the court as sufficient to convict two local residents of the Sakhalin Region," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is clarified that the men were found guilty under paragraph "g" of Part 2 of Article 105 ("Murder committed by a group of persons") and part 1 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs"). One of the defendants was sentenced to 16 years in prison, the other to 10 years in a high—security penal colony.
According to the investigation, in July 2000, there was a conflict between the two convicts and the victim. The victim was suspected of cooperating with law enforcement agencies and providing them with information about the illegal activities of convicts.
During the conflict, the defendants inflicted numerous knife blows on the victim, from which he died on the spot. The SU IC for the region noted that previously the identity of the accused could not be established, as a result, the criminal case was suspended, but later they were detained.
On the eve of the Primorsky Territory, the investigation of the criminal case of the murder of one of the members of the Trifonovsky gang on the territory of a cooperage plant in the city of Dalnerechensk, Primorsky Territory, in 2003, was completed. A guilty verdict was passed on the fact of the crime, which has already been sent to court.
