WP reported on the publication of a CIA report on alleged Russian interference in the US elections

The administration of US President Donald Trump, led by the country's national intelligence leader Tulsi Gabbard, has released an almost unedited secret report by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on Russia's alleged interference in the US presidential election in 2016. This was reported on August 6 by The Washington Post (WP), citing sources.

"Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has released a minimally edited version of the [classified] report...> Over the past month, Gabbard, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Attorney General Pam Bondy have released numerous intelligence and law enforcement reports that <...> prove that the intelligence agencies' conclusions that Moscow interfered in the 2016 presidential race to help Trump were a "hoax" concocted by the administration of [former US President Barack] Obama," the intelligence publication says.

It is noted that the CIA staff tried to prevent the full publication of the report, and therefore several versions of it were prepared, some of which were more edited to protect confidential information.

The secret service justifies its position by saying that the document may reveal the secret methods of CIA espionage.

Earlier, on July 20, Trump accused Obama of fraud in the 2016 presidential election. According to the data released by Gabbard, the administration of the ex-president concealed intelligence information that Russia then "had no intention or ability" to hack the electronic electoral system.

On July 22, Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), confirmed that the charges against Trump were fabricated by supporters of former United States leaders Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

On July 23, Gabbard said that former President Barack Obama should be held accountable for manipulating intelligence data to spread false information about Russia's alleged influence on the US presidential election.
