"The international community, including China, carries out normal cooperation with Russia within the framework of international law. This is reasonable and legal, does not cause harm to third parties and deserves respect and protection," TASS quoted him as saying.

The diplomat stressed that China has always disapproved of the unilateral imposition of "illegal and unjustified" economic restrictions by the United States.

He also pointed out that China and the United States recently held another round of economic talks in Stockholm, Sweden. The embassy's press secretary expressed hope for mutual understanding and strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

"There are no winners in tariff wars. Coercion and pressure will lead to nothing," stated Liu Pengyu.
