108 streets will be improved in the north-east of Moscow this year. This was announced on Wednesday, August 6, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.

According to him, work has already begun on 81st Street, including Shirokaya, Leskov and Butyrskaya. The landscaping is carried out as part of a general program covering about 700 streets throughout the capital, RT clarifies. The goal is to make moving around the city comfortable, improve access to residential areas, transport and social facilities.

It is planned to replace more than 1.2 million square meters. one meter of asphalt on roads and 300 thousand square meters on sidewalks, expand pedestrian zones, install new illuminated crosswalks, parking pockets, modern stops with a scoreboard, Wi-Fi and charging, writes "Moscow 24". Landscaping is also provided — more than 960 thousand square meters of lawns, according to the Moscow City News agency.
