Special Envoy of the President of the United States Stephen Witkoff resorted to the help of a personal interpreter during negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported on August 6 by CNN.

"It should be noted that there was a woman next to Witkoff, presumably an American translator," the TV channel said live.

It is noted that Witkoff previously relied on Russian translators. This, according to CNN, was the first time Witkoff brought in a personal assistant.

Witkoff arrived in Moscow on the morning of August 6. During the visit, he met with Putin in the Kremlin. Their meeting lasted about three hours.

On May 10, it was reported that Witkoff used the services of a Kremlin translator during negotiations with Putin. American politicians noted that Witkoff allegedly risked using Kremlin translators, as some nuances in Putin's words might have been overlooked. Also, the help of a Russian translator was considered in the United States as a disadvantage for the special envoy.
