The dermatologist named the risk factors for sunburn
Natalia Sirmais, a dermatovenerologist and associate professor at the FMBA, urged some people to avoid tanning due to the risk of developing cancer.
In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Wednesday, August 6, the expert gave advice to those who wanted to bask in the sun. She reminded me that there is no such thing as a safe tan — it's just a protective reaction of the body. People with fair skin, multiple moles, children under three years of age, as well as patients with cancer, autoimmune and a number of skin diseases are at risk.
Special care should be taken when taking drugs that cause photosensitivity, such as tetracyclines, retinoids, NSAIDs, diuretics and antihistamines.
The doctor advised to avoid the sun from 11:00 to 16:00, use sunscreens with SPF 30-50+, updating them every two hours and after bathing. It is also recommended to wear protective clothing and hide in the shade.
Even dark-skinned skin needs protection, and after exposure to the sun, it is important to moisturize it with products with aloe, panthenol or antioxidants.
On August 5, dermatologist Maria Zhuravleva in an interview with the website kp.ru She called a spotty tan a sign of sun fungus. She explained that mottled lichen looks like coffee-with-milk spots with a flaky surface, which creates the effect of false leukoderma and disrupts a uniform tan, notes 360.ru .
On August 4, cosmetologist Victoria Zhukova warned about the side effects of a new beauty product spray "tanning activator". According to her, the active ingredient of the drug is melanotan-2, which is not registered in the Russian Federation as a medical product. In particular, it can negatively affect the central nervous system, writes NSN.
In July, geneticist Irina Kolesnikova spoke about the genes that affect a beautiful tan. According to her, the TYR and ASIP genes are responsible for the evenness and beauty of the tan.
