An elderly motorist is awaiting trial for an accident with an injured girl in the Mud

In the Lipetsk region, the investigation of a criminal case against a 65-year-old motorist who crashed into a moped with two teenagers has been completed. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gryazinsky district.

The accident occurred on July 11, 2025, on 30 Let Pobedy Street in the city of Mud. At the intersection of uneven roads, the driver of a Nissan crashed into a moped driven by a 15-year-old boy.

An 18-year-old passenger of a two-wheeled vehicle was injured in the collision. The damage caused to her health was classified as serious.

The Nissan driver was charged under Part 1 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused serious harm to health." The case materials have been submitted to the court for consideration on the merits, and the man faces up to two years in prison.

According to GOROD48, the minor moped driver disappeared after the accident. His parents were held accountable under Article 5.25 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation for improper performance of parental duties.

Earlier in August, it was reported that the investigation of a criminal case against a motorist from Chaplyginsky district, who got behind the wheel of an SUV while intoxicated and caused a fatal accident, had been completed. His 47-year-old passenger died in it.
