A farmer from the Stavropol Territory has received a record harvest of large-fruited raspberries. 25 tons were harvested from 7 hectares, the press service of the regional government reported on Wednesday, August 6.

The Polka berry was grown in the village of Suvorovskaya in the Foothill district. The agronomist chose this raspberry variety because of its resistance to weather changes.

Usually a farmer harvests 15-17 tons of berries. He sells raspberries in Stavropol and neighboring regions. The leftovers are processed into jams, baby food, and yogurts.

According to the StavropolMedia news agency, the farm is expanding. This year, the owner bought a combine harvester, which simplified and accelerated the harvesting process.

At the end of July, it was reported that the Stavropol authorities want to attract an amphibious aircraft from the Russian Hydrometeorological Service to fight for the harvest. The aircraft acts on clouds to form precipitation.
