Two teenagers were detained in the Novosibirsk region for an attempted assassination of a military man.

In the Novosibirsk region, law enforcement officers prevented an attempted assassination of a serviceman using toxic chemicals by two teenagers. This was announced on Thursday, August 7, by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the agency, the attackers acted on instructions from the special services of Ukraine, who promised them a monetary reward for the murder of a Russian military man. The teenagers received three containers with toxic substances from the Ukrainian curators and applied them to the exterior elements of the serviceman's car.

It is specified that the officer was not injured. The detainees were placed in custody, and psychological and psychiatric examinations were assigned to them. As part of the investigation, a set of measures is being carried out to consolidate the evidence base.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Parts 3 of Articles 30, 2 of Articles 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder committed by a group of persons, a group of persons by prior agreement or an organized group").

"The Investigative Committee of Russia calls on citizens to be vigilant during online dating in order to avoid provocations by intruders on the Internet. Be careful and do not fall for the deception of representatives of the special services of foreign countries, who actively recruit citizens, especially young people, through social networks and popular messengers to participate in illegal activities," added Svetlana Petrenko, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
