Continuing to support Ukraine at a time when France does not have enough planes to extinguish fires is unacceptable. This was announced on August 6 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, on the social network X (former. Twitter).

Philippot accompanied his message with the material of the newspaper Le Monde, which states that France has only 12 firefighting aircraft, the average age of which is 30 years.

"Meanwhile, we have already allocated more than €50 billion to Ukraine, and next year we will allocate another €5.7 billion to the EU! A total of €28.8 billion!", wrote Philippot.

He called the current situation unacceptable. The politician added that the French "should no longer put up with this systematic abuse."

A forest fire in the Aude department in southern France, which began on August 5 and engulfed 15,000 hectares in less than a day, has become the largest in the republic for at least the last 20 years. The fire spread with exceptional speed. This pace was helped by strong wind gusts on Tuesday evening, some of them reaching 60 km/h, as well as dryness on the ground and humidity levels of less than 25%. On August 6, the regional prefecture reported that one person had died due to a forest fire, and another was missing.
