Geomagnetic disturbances, the source of which will be a coronal hole, may begin on Earth on August 8. This was announced on August 6 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In addition, the speed of the solar wind near the Earth's orbit will reach about 600-700 km/s on Friday and Saturday. This value will remain until the middle of next week.

"The peak of the accompanying geomagnetic disturbances is expected next Friday and Saturday. The exact strength of the disturbances is not yet very clear and varies quite a lot in different branches of the forecast, as always happens when the source of the disturbances is a coronal hole," follows from the publication in the Telegram channel.

According to scientists, the forecast shows a limited yellow danger level, but the probability of G3 storms is allowed.

Earlier, on August 4, astronomer, popularizer of astronomy and cosmonautics Alexander Kiselyov warned that magnetic storms are also expected on August 19-20, and on the 25th the most powerful geomagnetic disturbance of the month is predicted. He explained that such phenomena can have an impact on the well—being of weather-dependent people - headaches, migraines and dizziness may occur.
