A woman drowned her newborn daughter in a dormitory in Moscow, the incident occurred on General Dorokhov Street. This was reported on August 6 in the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow.

"A criminal case is being investigated on the grounds of a crime under Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("murder of a newborn child by a mother")," the Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the cause of death of the child is asphyxia as a result of drowning. The child's body was found in the dormitory toilet.

The Investigative Committee also clarified that the newborn's mother fully admitted her guilt during the interrogation.

On June 9, a local woman suspected of murdering her young daughter was detained in Voskresensk, Moscow region. It was clarified that on June 8, the body of a five-year-old girl with signs of violent death was found in an apartment on Rabochaya Street. A criminal case was opened into the murder (paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
