Experts named the cheapest cars

The average price of new Chinese cars and machines supplied by parallel imports continues to decline. This was reported to Izvestia on August 7 by experts from <url> Estimates based on the results of a study of the sale ads.

The average price of a Chinese car was 3.52 million rubles, a decrease of 1.6% month-on-month and only 1% higher than a year ago. In general, the reduction in the average cost has been ongoing for the fifth month in a row, and since the beginning of 2025 it has fallen by 3.4%.

Cars that are not officially supplied to Russia showed a sharp monthly drop of more than 4%. Year-on-year, the average price in this segment dropped by 13.6%, with a decrease of 3.4% since January.

The average cost of a new car from Russian manufacturers shows the greatest stability: the monthly decrease was a symbolic one tenth of a percent, and since the beginning of the year it has been only 0.8%. Annual growth is 1.6%.

Hongqi HS5 was among the models with the largest decrease in the average price — its cost immediately fell by 7.2%, from 3.67 million to 3.40 million rubles. Such cars as Haval Jolion (-4.1%, to 2.49 million rubles), Tank 400 (-3.7%, to 5.98 million rubles), Soueast S09 (-3.5%, to 3.80 million rubles) and Chery Tiggo 8 (-2.8%, to 3.49 million rubles) also fell significantly. The reasons for this decrease may be related to the updating of model lines, the release of new competitive offers, or adjustments to the policy of forming a price list by dealers.

At the same time, a number of models have seen moderate price increases. Thus, the Lixiang L7 is the leader in this indicator: the average price of this model increased by 1.4% (to 6.96 million rubles). A slight increase in prices was demonstrated by Haval H3 (+1.1%), Chery Tiggo 2 (+1.1%), Lixiang L6 (+1.1%) and Chery Tiggo 4 (+1.1%).

Individual brands may leave the Russian market before the end of the year.

On August 5, the Autostat agency reported that by the end of July 2025, 120,649 new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 11.4% less than in July 2024. Lada retains its leadership with an impressive advantage, accounting for about a quarter (23.41%) of the total volume, with 28,240 copies sold.
