The Ministry of Education does not intend to introduce a uniform school uniform in Russia

A uniform school uniform will not be introduced in Russia, and educational institutions can set their own appearance requirements. This was announced on July 6 by the press service of the ministry on its website.

"The Ministry of Education of Russia has no plans to introduce a uniform school uniform. Educational institutions, guided by Article 38 of Federal Law No. 273-FZ "On Education in the Russian Federation", can independently establish requirements for appearance, color and style of clothing, taking into account the opinions of parents and students," the publication says.

It is specified that from the beginning of the new academic year, the general requirements for manufacturers will come into force in accordance with Rosstandart Order No. 1155 dated August 31, 2024. The document explains the necessary characteristics of the fabric, for example, breathability, moisture wicking and hypoallergenic.
