The mother of a child who suffered from a ruptured liver in a water park told about his condition

A six-year-old boy who was seriously injured in one of the St. Petersburg water parks is still in intensive care, but doctors have favorable prognoses. His mother Alyona told Izvestia about this on August 6.

"The dynamics are good and positive. They're taking the tube out of his stomach tomorrow. The probe has already been removed from the nose. His meals start tomorrow already. The forecasts are good," the woman shared.

She added that the boy underwent surgery and had about 600 ml of blood pumped out of his abdominal cavity.

According to Alyona, she and her husband and two children came to St. Petersburg to rest from the Vologda region. The sons visited the city for the first time.

She wasn't at the water park: her husband was there with the boys. When the youngest son went down the children's slide, his father picked him up. At that moment, an employee of the water park whistled, but the man did not understand the reason for the signal and, with the child in his arms, decided to swim closer to her — at the same time, another vacationer drove into them from the slide. Later, the visitor apologized to the family.

"We have no complaints about the water park or anyone else. Especially to a woman, she has nothing to do with it at all. She drove and drove. How did she know if anyone was down there or not? I think there should be special staff to control this," Alyona said.

She noted that the aquapark refunded them the ticket price.

Home care: the fine for parents is planned to be increased fourfold

The initiation of a criminal case into the rupture of the liver of a child in a water park in St. Petersburg was reported on the same day. It was clarified that the incident occurred on August 5. At the moment, investigators are conducting a check to establish the circumstances of the incident.
