- The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will decide on a referendum to keep Dodik as president.
On Friday, August 8, the National Assembly (Parliament) of Republika Srpska (Entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH) will vote on a proposal to hold a referendum on the continuation of the powers of President Milorad Dodik. This was announced to Izvestia on August 6 by MP Srdjan Mazalica.
"I expect coordinated actions by all Serbian parties in defense of President Dodik's mandate. The National Assembly must protect not only Milorad Dodik, but also the institution of the president from the attacks of the self—proclaimed High Representative representing several countries of the collective West that are trying to preserve their colonial power over Bosnia and Herzegovina," the politician said.
He noted that so far, President Dodik has enjoyed the strong support of Serbia, Hungary and the Russian Federation.
"We will strive to inform all countries of the region, Europe and the world about the violation of the constitutional and legal order and the violent colonial actions of a number of foreign ambassadors through the impostor Schmidt, as colonial legal violence is taking place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, unprecedented since the Middle Ages," Mazalica concluded.
The President of Republika Srpska has stated that he does not intend to leave his post and the territory of the republic. He initiated a referendum, in which, according to him, the people will express their will regarding his mandate and the further exercise of presidential powers.
Earlier, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a unanimous decision to annul Dodik's mandate and call early elections. The Bosnian authorities decided to revoke the mandate after the decision of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the February sentence of Milorad Dodik. On February 26, the politician was sentenced to a year in prison and deprived of his right to hold public office for six years.
In March, the BiH prosecutor's office decided to detain Dodik. Later, on August 1, the President of Republika Srpska appealed for help to Russia, Serbia and the United States after the appeals chamber of the court upheld his sentence. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in turn, called the decision of the appeals commission unjustified and antidemocratic, and the verdict against Dodik was absurd.
