The State Duma proposed to reset the mortgage rate for large families

On August 6, Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, proposed to reset the mortgage rate for large families and introduce a mechanism for gradual repayment of debt at the birth of children.

"For large families, the rate should be reset altogether, and they should be given interest-free housing loans. We also advocate gradual repayment of the mortgage, starting with the first child," Mironov told TASS.

The deputy proposed to write off 500 thousand rubles at the birth of the first child, 600 thousand rubles at the birth of the second and 700 thousand rubles at the birth of the third, notes "Газета.Ru ".

"Such a mechanism will be no less effective than a rate cut. According to our estimates, it can increase the birth rate by one and a half times," he added.

Mironov also noted that when introducing a differentiated mortgage, depending on the region, the rate should change only in the direction of its decrease.

"Our financiers in the Cabinet of Ministers should not be tempted to raise the rate for Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other major cities, leaving it the same for the regions. On the contrary, it is necessary to reduce the rate in the regions, as it is already being done within the framework of the Far Eastern and Arctic mortgages," the chairman of the party emphasized.

Rates are proposed to be lowered to support families and keep people in small towns.

Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, said on June 28 that mortgage repayment payments for large families in Russia could double from 450,000 to 900,000 rubles. According to him, this measure may be one of the reasons for an increase in the birth rate in the country.

On May 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out the need to create special conditions for families with three or more children. According to the head of state, there is currently a significant increase in the number of large families in the country, and the authorities are regularly expanding measures to support them.
