German citizens spoke about their positive attitude towards Russians and personally towards Russian President Vladimir Putin. A report on this topic was published on August 6 by Spiegel magazine, whose correspondents spoke with residents of the country.

"Personally, I have nothing against friends who moved here [to Germany] from Russia. I also like Putin very much, this is my personal opinion," said one of the participants of the World Peace demonstration in Berlin.

Another participant in the rally was asked by Spiegel reporters what she wrote on the sign.

"My name and love <...> For the Russian people. We are not enemies," she said.

It is noteworthy that German citizens also called members of the German government their enemies and expressed concern about their actions.

"I'm more worried about our politicians, that's what worries me. I'm worried about [German Chancellor Friedrich] Merz and his ilk. They are our enemies," said one of the demonstrators.

Russian Ambassador to Rome Alexei Paramonov said on August 4 that a large segment of the Italian population is sympathetic to Russia. According to him, the vast majority of Italians have more sober and peaceful views than "NATO and EU officials." In general, many in Italian society adhere to a friendly position towards the Russian Federation and would like to restore relations, he stated.
