The body of a man who went missing 28 years ago has been found in a melting glacier in the remote and mountainous Kohistan region of Pakistan. This was announced on August 6 by the BBC television company.

"A shepherd came across a body that was surprisingly well preserved, with its clothes intact, in the so—called Lady Valley in the east of the country," the article says.

Along with the body was an identification card with the name Nasiruddin, the BBC reports. The police managed to track down a man who disappeared in the area in June 1997 after falling into a glacier crack during a snowstorm. Nasiruddin had a wife and two children. He was traveling with his brother Katiruddin on horseback on the day he went missing. Police said a family dispute forced the two men to leave their home.

When the brothers arrived at the cave, Nasiruddin entered there and did not return. His brother tried to find him and went for help, but the search was unsuccessful.

The BBC noted that in recent years, the amount of snow in the region has decreased, which is why glaciers are exposed to direct sunlight, which causes them to melt faster. Thanks to the melting of the glacier, Nasiruddin's body was discovered.
