A forest fire in the US state of California has covered almost 34 thousand hectares. This was reported on August 6 by ABC TV channel.

"Since the start of the Gifford fire, which is raging <...> in the state of California, the fire area has amounted to 83,933 acres (almost 34 thousand hectares — Ed.)," the material says.

It is specified that the fire was localized only by 9%. In this regard, evacuation orders were issued for residents of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. Currently, about 2 thousand people are extinguishing a forest fire.

Earlier in the day, The Globe and Mail reported that at least 15,000 people had evacuated to the Canadian province of Manitoba due to wildfires. It was noted that there are more than 760 forest fires across the country, of which at least 205 are out of control.
