In Novosibirsk, an 18-year-old local resident was sentenced to six years in a penal colony for sabotage on the railway. This was announced on August 6 in the press service of the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office in the Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, in December last year, a young man who had not yet reached the age of majority set fire to a relay cabinet located between Novosibirsk — Vostochny and Novosibirsk — Main stations of the West Siberian Railway in the Dzerzhinsky district of the city for a monetary award in the form of 30 thousand rubles. At the same time, the person involved received the task through the network from an unknown person.

The department clarified that the total amount of damage caused to the owner of the facility amounted to more than 150 thousand rubles. It is noted that the attacker was found guilty under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Sabotage").

On August 1, a court sentenced a resident of the Ulyanovsk region to eight years in a penal colony for setting fire to relay cabinets on a stretch of Ulyanovsk – Laishevka stations. The attacker was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted sabotage") and paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code ("Sabotage").
