A case of causing serious harm to a child in a water park was opened in St. Petersburg.

A seven-year-old child suffered a ruptured liver at an aquapark in St. Petersburg, and a criminal case was opened into the incident. This was announced on August 6 by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"The Investigation Department for the Kalininsky district of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of St. Petersburg has opened a criminal case on the grounds of injury to a child born in 2018 on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing serious harm to health by negligence")," the message published on Telegram says -the channel.

According to the agency, the incident occurred on August 5. The boy spent time with his parents at the water park, riding the slides. While riding, he ran into another visitor to the water park. The child was injured and taken to the hospital.

The department added that the investigators had organized a check to establish the circumstances of the incident.

On August 3, it was reported that in St. Petersburg, a 17-year-old student on a motorcycle rode onto a lawn near the roadway and hit a six-year-old boy. It is specified that the boy was taken to the intensive care unit in serious condition. Doctors diagnosed him with a concussion, a closed craniocerebral injury and numerous bruises.
