The Second Western District Military Court found guilty three defendants in the case of drone attacks on railway tracks in the Belgorod and Bryansk regions. They were sentenced to 16 to 20 years in prison. This was reported to Izvestia in court on August 6.

It is specified that one of the defendants in the case, Dmitry Turiev, was sentenced to 20 years, of which he must serve the first four in prison, and the rest of the term in a high—security colony. Tatiana Turieva was sentenced to 16 years in a general regime colony, Maxim Kosyachenko was also 16 years old, but with serving the first three years in prison, and then in a high—security colony. All three are included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation.

It is noted that the prosecutor in the debate of the parties asked them from 18 to 22 years in prison. Turiev pleaded partially guilty, his wife and Kosyachenko do not consider themselves guilty. After the indictment was announced, the court completed the trial.

According to investigators, the Turievs and Kosyachenko joined an organized criminal group (OCG) no later than October 2022 to destabilize the work of government authorities and communications facilities in the border regions of Belgorod and Bryansk. The group planned to carry out terrorist attacks on the railway infrastructure: they searched for accomplices, weapons, provided communication between the participants, bought SIM cards and used drones. According to the investigation, in 2023 they carried out three train bombings in these regions.

In August 2024, the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation accused Kosyachenko and Turieva of a terrorist attack on Russian Railways (RZD) facilities in the interests of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine. A criminal case was opened against them under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("A terrorist act committed by a group of persons that caused significant property damage or other serious consequences").
