Former head coach of the Russian national football team Cherchesov heads FC Akhmat
Stanislav Cherchesov, the former head coach of the Russian national football team, became the head of the Akhmat Grozny club. This was announced on August 6 by the press service of the football club.
"Stanislav Cherchesov has become the new head coach of the Akhmat football club," the website says.
The coach's contract with the Grozny team is for three years.
The press service recalled that Cherchesov had already headed Akhmat. Then in the 2012-13 season, under his leadership, the club took eighth place. At that time, this result was the best in the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the history of the team.
Earlier, on August 5, Akhmat announced the resignation of coach Alexander Storozhuk. It was clarified that the contract was terminated by mutual agreement of the parties.
