Popular used cars have fallen in price over the year

The average cost of popular used cars decreased in July by 5.9% compared to the same period in 2024 and amounted to 800,000 rubles. This was reported to Izvestia by Avito Avto on August 6.

Prices for Hyundai models decreased by 11.5%, Kia — by 9.1%, Chevrolet — by 9.1%, Volkswagen — by 8.3%, and Nissan — by 7.5%.
Of the top 20 most popular models, 16 have fallen in price, and 5 of them — by more than 10%. The most noticeable decrease was in the price of Volkswagen Polo (-12.4%), Lada Kalina (-11.9%), Hyundai Solaris (-11.8%), Renault Logan (-11.1%) and Toyota Camry (-10.4%).

Compared to January of this year, the average price of a used car decreased by 3.6%. Chevrolet (-6.5%), Ford (-4.4%), Nissan (-4.4%), Lada (-4.1%) and Kia (-4%) cars fell in price most noticeably during this period. Among the models, Renault Logan (-10.9%), Hyundai Solaris (-6.7%), LADA Kalina (-6.7%), Chevrolet Niva (-5.9%) and Ford Focus (-5.6%) fell the most in price.

Individual brands may leave the Russian market before the end of the year.

Earlier, the analytical agency Autostat reported that by the end of July 2025, 120,649 new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 11.4% less than in July 2024. Lada retains its leadership with an impressive advantage, accounting for about a quarter (23.41%) of the total volume, with 28,240 copies sold. The most popular foreign brand in July was Chery, with a circulation of 13,502 units. Haval dropped to the third place (13,117 units), followed by Geely and Changan — 8,389 and 7860 units. accordingly.
