Yeghishe Melikyan will lead the Armenian national football team. This was announced on August 6 on the official website of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).

"The 46-year-old specialist's candidacy was approved today by members of the FFA Executive Committee <...> The contract with Yeghishe Melikyan will be valid until November 2026," the publication says.

FFA President Armen Melikbekyan noted that Melikyan went from being a player of the Armenian national team to a coach, twice won the championship in Armenian club football and "knows Armenian football perfectly from the inside."

Earlier, on May 30, Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri took over FC Milan. It is reported that the specialist's previous place of work was Juventus FC, which Allegri left in 2024.
