On August 6, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto accused the heads of the European Union (EU) of supporting forced conscription in Ukraine.

"Brussels recognizes that it condones this, approves of it, and everything that we see today in Ukraine under the name of forced conscription is happening with the tacit or not tacit support of Brussels," he said on the podcast "Hour of Fighters", published on the YouTube channel Harcosok Órája.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister stressed that Brussels has not yet said "a single word about the fact that a Hungarian, an EU citizen, was beaten to death during forced conscription in Ukraine."

"Forced conscription is a state tool there. Such a country has no place in the European Union, it cannot belong to civilized countries," Szijjarto believes.

On July 17, Hungary imposed sanctions against three Ukrainian military leaders for forced conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was noted that the decision was made because the EU had not yet included the data of those responsible for the death of Hungarian Jozsef Szebestien during forced conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Transcarpathia.
