Russian President Vladimir Putin received US President's special envoy Steven Whitkoff in the Kremlin. The meeting took place on August 6, the press service of the head of state reported.
It is noted that Witkoff arrived in Moscow around 7:00 Moscow time. At Vnukovo Airport, he was met by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for cooperation with foreign countries. About an hour later, they walked together through Zaryadye Park, located near the Kremlin.
This is Witkoff's fifth visit to Russia since the beginning of 2025. His last trips took place in April: to Moscow on the 25th and to St. Petersburg on the 11th, where meetings with Putin also took place.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed on August 4 that the bilateral dialogue between Moscow and Washington continues. He clarified that the United States also continues to make efforts to mediate in the search for ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
