Sobyanin spoke about a pilot project on proactive endoscopic research
About a month ago, a proactive endoscopic research project was launched in the capital in a pilot mode. This was stated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
The aim of the project is to identify gastrointestinal diseases in the early stages, as well as pathologies that precede the development of oncology. Referrals for examinations have been opened for residents of the city who have not had gastro- and colonoscopies for several years. More than 20 thousand people passed them.
Four endoscopic centers are currently operating in Moscow. The first one, on the basis of the Botkin Moscow International Scientific and Cultural Center, opened four years ago. Others are located in the V.M. Buyanov State Library, the MMCC "Kommunarka" and the MKNC named after A.S. Loginov. More than 700,000 studies have been conducted in the centers, and more than 4,000 malignant neoplasms have been detected at the zero and early stages. Examinations are performed under mild sedation. The time spent in the endoscopic center does not exceed two hours.
