In the first half of 2025, the average receipt in pharmacies in St. Petersburg increased by 7.4%. This was reported by the DP newspaper on August 6, citing data from the RNC Pharma analytical company.

In total, the growth was 10.8% in Russia, although last year the growth was more noticeable — 12.4%. The Chukotka Autonomous Okrug ranked first in terms of the average check among Russian regions. The amount there amounted to 1,171 rubles, which is 9% more than in the same period last year. Moscow is in second place with 1,127 rubles (+4%). St. Petersburg rounded out the top three with an average check of 993 rubles.

Nikolay Bespalov, Director of Development at RNC Pharma, noted that the average bill for medicines in St. Petersburg increased by 12%, amounting to 763 rubles. At the same time, the average bill for parapharmaceutical products such as dietary supplements and cosmetics decreased by 5% to 231 rubles. In the whole country, the average receipt for parapharmaceuticals increased by only 0.8%, reaching 149 rubles.

According to the Rigla pharmacy chain, which is also actively conducting an internal analysis, there is an increase in demand for non-medicinal products in St. Petersburg. According to reports, in the first half of 2025, sales of parapharmaceutical products increased by 27% in the first quarter and by 13% in the second quarter, and in monetary terms by 43% and 31%, respectively.

Ilya Nikolaev, the commercial director of the chain, noted that the increase in the average receipt in the company's pharmacies was 10% since the beginning of 2024. The expansion of the range of non-medicinal products, including dietary supplements, medical products and cosmetics, has become a major growth factor.

On April 28, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the share of domestic vital medicines should grow to 90%. He stressed that in order to provide high-quality medical care, it is necessary to have effective medicines manufactured in Russia.
