The US Senate accused Trump of suspending sanctions against Russia
Democrats in the United States Senate have accused American leader Donald Trump of suspending sanctions against Russia. This was reported on August 6 by The Washington Post (WP).
The US administration is accused of being unable to expand the sanctions that were created in the first three years of the special military operation in Ukraine, the article says.
At the same time, it is noted that the Democrats have launched a large-scale campaign to put pressure on Trump and force him to comply with the ultimatum presented to the Russian side.
On July 14, the American leader announced his intention to impose 100% secondary duties on Russia if the Ukrainian conflict is not resolved in 50 days. Later, he reduced this period to 10-12 days.
On July 31, Trump announced that the United States would impose anti-Russian sanctions after a 10-day period. However, he is not sure that they will have any effect.
