The Russian Ministry of Education has approved weekly workload standards for teachers, which are calculated according to the salary rate depending on their specialty. This was reported on August 6 by RIA Novosti after reviewing the department's document.

According to the new regulations, teachers will work 18 hours a week, which corresponds to their basic salary.

"The standard of hours is the calculated value for payroll. How many hours a teacher should work per week is determined by the educational organization," the Ministry of Education explained.

Also, the standard working time of 36 hours per week has been established for preschool teachers, educational psychologists and social educators. The standards of pedagogical work for a physical education instructor and senior educators are 30 hours, and for educators working with children with disabilities — 25 hours per week.

It is noted that music directors and concertmasters will work 24 hours a week, and speech pathologists and speech therapists - 20 hours. The working hours for each specialist will be determined annually at the beginning of the academic year, depending on their position and specialty.

Earlier, on July 9, the Ministry of Education introduced uniform time limits for control work in schools. According to the document describing the new rules, students will be given one or two lessons of no more than 45 minutes each for the test, while the student must complete the practical task in one lesson.
