It is specified that these exercises will be held in two stages. At the first stage, the military personnel will work out the air defense cover of troops and facilities during the repulse of enemy air attack weapons. In addition, the active phase of the live-fire exercise will take place at the second stage.

"During the exercise, new techniques and methods of using units will be tested in accordance with the requirements for conducting combat operations in modern conditions," the department's Telegram channel says.

They added that these exercises will help improve the level of training during combat operations to repel enemy attacks.

Surface ships, submarines and rescue vessels take part in the maneuvers.

On May 28, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, Viktor Khrenin, announced that the main maneuvers of the joint military exercises of Russia and the Republic of Zapad-2025 were being transferred deep into the country from the western borders. He stressed that the exercises are not aimed at other countries, and moving their main actions deeper means readiness for dialogue and reducing tension in the region.
