Lawyer P. Diddy sent Trump a request for pardon of the rapper
The lawyer of American rapper Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, Nicole Westmoreland, along with her client, appealed to the head of the United States, Donald Trump, with a request for clemency. She said this in an interview with CNN on August 5.
"As far as I understand, we have contacted [Trump] and negotiated a pardon," she said.
Earlier, the American leader made it clear that he would most likely not pardon the perpetrator. At the same time, Westmoreland expressed hope for her client's optimistic attitude.
"[Combs] is a very optimistic person, and I believe he retains that attitude," she shared.
In turn, representatives of the White House refused to comment to the TV channel on the presence or absence of any requests for clemency sent to Trump.
Earlier, on July 3, a court in New York denied rapper Sean Combs bail until sentencing. The judge noted that the actor had not proved that he would not pose a danger outside of detention.
The New York Times reported on July 2 that a Manhattan court jury partially returned a verdict against P. Diddy, finding him guilty on two of the five counts, in particular, of transporting people for prostitution. It was clarified that the discussions lasted 12 hours.
