The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation has established how many hours a teacher should work at school, depending on his qualifications and salary. According to the Ministry's law, the average teacher must work 18 hours a week.

"The standard of hours is the calculated value for payroll. How many hours a teacher should work per week is determined by the educational organization," the document says, as quoted by RIA Novosti news agency.

At the same time, according to the legislative act, preschool teachers, as well as educational psychologists and social educators must work 36 hours a week. This rate is reduced to 30 hours for physical education teachers and senior teachers, and up to 25 hours for educators working with children with disabilities.

Music teachers can work 24 hours a week, and school speech therapists can work 20 hours at all.

Earlier, on July 9, the Ministry of Education introduced uniform time limits for control work in schools. According to the document describing the new rules, students will be given one or two lessons of no more than 45 minutes each for the test, while the student must complete the practical task in one lesson.
