Battle flags were set up on the central square in the city of Sudzha and a wreath was laid in memory of the dead residents and military personnel on the anniversary of the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk border region.

"This is important for those people who are in the city in a peaceful area, so that they can see that there are people who stand here on the borders and protect our small homeland, the Kursk land, the Kursk border region. And on the other side <...> that people here stand in positions of defending their Fatherland and will continue to stand," said Father Alexander, a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces.

According to Izvestia correspondent Tatiana Simonenkova, the city is still under attack by drones.

Earlier, on July 25, Alexander Bastrykin, chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, reported that more than 330 people were victims of the Ukrainian Armed Forces invasion of the Kursk region in August 2024. It is specified that the number of victims includes 25 minors.
