Direct flights to the Dominican Republic are expected in winter

Given the interest of the Dominican authorities in resuming direct flights from Russia, direct flights from Moscow to this country may begin this winter. This was stated to Izvestia by Alexander Shchetinin, head of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The Dominican authorities declare their high interest in resuming air transportation. If the necessary agreements are reached, the first flights can begin already in the winter season," the diplomat says.

The aviation authorities in Russia have publicly stated their readiness to resume direct flights to the Dominican Republic, which was very popular with our travelers. Before the pandemic, passenger traffic between the countries exceeded 400 thousand people. After that, he never recovered — flights were suspended due to sanctions against Russian companies.
