The Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about the response to NATO's actions to strengthen the role of nuclear weapons

The North Atlantic Alliance is increasingly focusing on strengthening the role of nuclear weapons against the background of preparations for a possible military clash with Russia, this moment is taken into account in defense planning and military construction, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told Izvestia.

This was done against the background of plans to deploy American ground-based INF missiles in various regions.

"Naturally. All this is taken into account in our defense planning and military construction," Grushko said, answering a question from Izvestia.

Russia is carefully assessing the situation and assumes that the whole essence of NATO's military activities is aimed at preparing for a possible military clash with the Russian Federation, Grushko concluded.

According to Bloomberg, in July, for the first time in 17 years, B61-12 nuclear bombs were transferred to the UK from the United States.
